Introduction

Guitar backing tracks are simply tracks that have the guitar parts in them muted, so guitarists can play along with them for fun or practice. It's a tremendous way to practice a song or improvisation without a metronome, as well as being a hell lotta fun, much more fun than playing solo with a metronome.

However, I do suggest on practicing a specific song with a metronome first, and then move to the guitar backing track of the song when you are able to play it comfortable enough with minimum mistakes as possible.

• The tracks can be played onsite or downloaded as mp3 to your computer
• If you don't know what to play or practice, the front page always offers top 10 most popular backing tracks so you immediately click and start practicing. For example, Crazy Train by Ossy Osbourne makes a great backing track and it's on the top 10 on the front page. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana is also a great candidate that is on the front page.

I would make this website my second option to search for guitar backing tracks only because it contains less tracks than the previous website. Nevertheless, a great versatile website for what it advertises to offer!

This website does NOT include guitar backing tracks songs like the previous two websites, however, it contains a large collection of jamming tracks. Jamming tracks is different than backing tracks in a way that jamming tracks does not include a specific song to play along with, but rather, it normally consists of melody with drums and beats played on a specific scale, like the E minor scale, or G minor grooving, Blues in G, Rock
in B minor, and just any combination you can imagine.

Jamming tracks is a great way to practice improvisation, techniques such as vibrato and bends, and as the name implies, to simply jam on your guitar along with for fun. This website offers:

• around 750 jamming tracks on different scales and genres
• Free and paid jamming tracks
• The jamming tracks offered are from Youtube, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Deezer
• Navigation by Scales, Modes, Minor or Major, Styles of specific bands and artists (such as AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix), free or paid, Key and Genre.

This website is a dedicated guitar jamming tracks, it includes a good amount of jamming tracks, but much less than the previous websites mentioned above. It offers:

• Navigation by Genre, Key, Tempo, Scales, and Modes
• 100-200 Jamming tracks
• Links to other sites and youtube videos that are related to guitar playing, NOT jamming or backing tracks. For example, a youtube video review on a wah-wah pedal, or a video instruction on a specific scale or mode. Nice addition but in my opinion unnecessary and does not add to the value of the site. I would have focused on adding more jamming tracks instead.
• Dark, black background that is less comfortable to the eye

Over 100+ jamming tracks is still a respectable number, though the previous sites offer a lot more. A cool and useful site overall and I recommend bookmarking. Some of the jamming tracks included are made by the admin himself so you might not find them in other websites.

Final Thoughts

The above guitar backing tracks and jamming tracks websites are the best on the internet in my opinion. Large collection of tracks, easy navigation, and comfortable layout, make them very popular and useful. I recommend to bookmark ALL of them and remember to use them whenever you want to practice playing your favorite song with its original tempo and rhythm, and jamming tracks make for a great way to practice improvisation and techniques. All the great guitar players use jamming tracks or a drum machine with some melody loopier in training sessions, it improves their musical ear, their sense and groove for the music, and enhances their timing and synchronizing with the tempo, and you should do as well.
